FAQ

Why is imaging necessary?

The individual risk from dental imaging is quite small compared to the huge benefits that it can provide. Golden State X-Ray will give your dentist a full set of diagnostic images that will provide the information necessary to make an accurate diagnosis and treatment plan. Finding and treating dental issues at an early stage can save time and money now, and can also help prevent future, costly dental health conditions.ImageGently

What does “Image Gently” mean?

Golden State X-Ray Technicians are specially trained to reduce the radiation dose as much as possible. In addition, our state-of-the-art digital imaging units allow the exposure to be reduced significantly more than the standard analog units.

Will I be able to accompany my child throughout the imaging process?

We encourage parents to sit in an adjacent room where they can view the imaging process from a safe distance.

Aren’t all imaging labs required to practice infection control?

Yes, but Golden State X-Ray goes above and beyond what the state requires. One example is the disposable bite aligner tab we use, eliminating any possibility of cross-contamination. Most facilities will simply place a sturdy plastic cover over the same bite tab.

Another example is the steam autoclave used to sterilize instruments that are recycled. Many dental imaging centers will only use a cold high-level disinfecting soaking solution. This is an acceptable form of disinfection, but it is NOT the same as sterilization.

How do I know that my personal information will be secure?

Golden State X-Ray uses a comprehensive credit card data security solution called “Heartland Secure.” It combines three powerful technologies to provide merchants with the highest level of security available to protect against credit card data fraud.

In addition, you will notice that Golden State X-Ray does not ask for your social security number, driver’s license number or even your home address!

If the fees at Golden State are so low, doesn’t that mean the quality is compromised?

Do not confuse cheap with inexpensive! Cheap services use inferior equipment, inefficiently trained staff, and sub-standard protocols. Inexpensive services, on the other hand, are provided with quality equipment and experienced staff that practices proper protocols. Inexpensive services may not always be as low-priced as cheap products, but they are the best value.

Can Golden State X-Ray accommodate my schedule as a working parent?

Golden State X-Ray has appointments available from 8:00 a.m. to as late as 5:00 p.m. during the week, and we are open most Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Our office is closed on Sundays. We also work a half day on two or three Mondays per month. Bilingual staff members are available for Spanish-speaking patients.
